Cornwall’s communities have developed over the centuries, uniting people in their work, worship and leisure pastimes as well as within their parish and town boundaries. If you ask a Cornish person living outside Cornwall where home is, the answer will be ‘Cornwall’. If you ask someone living in Cornwall, the reply may be ‘Stratton’, ‘Bolingey’, or ‘Tredavah’, depending on how ‘local’ you yourself are!
Close communities have also grown out of work – miners or fishermen, for example – and church and chapel fellowship. |
